Just seen my first neonate viviparous lizard of the year. Anyone else
had any?

It wasn't a fluke either. I had another neonate in a different part of the
(large) site, which presumably came fron a second female.

I caught a female on my allotment on the weekend who was very skinny with folds on skin on her sides. She looked just like a female that had just given birth, but haven't seen any babies yet

I had a fleeting glimpse of a neonate common lizard on a woodpile today at my local nature reserve in north east Hampshire.

First newborns from West Hertfordshire yesterday, roughly a fortnight earlier than usual.  One basking happily on my thumb for a minute or so!

Saw this litter basking communally before going their separate ways on the Purbeck coast; also a nice greyish adult male

Saw my first baby in the dunes at Blackpool today along with 2 spent females nice to see as the weather has been pretty rubbish for the last 3 weeks they imposed a hosepipe ban and it has rained every day since.

Same here Ray. Dave and myself saw quite a few baby Common lizards on Sunday, 1st. That was the first time I've been able to see any lizards for quite a few weekends, the weathers been that bad.

Cheers

Mike
